Tokyo Big Sight, officially the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, is Japan's largest convention and exhibition venue, located in the Ariake Minami district on Tokyo Bay. Designed by AXS Satow and completed in 1996, the high-tech structure of reinforced concrete and steel rises 58 meters and is defined by its visually distinctive Conference Tower. Since its opening, it has hosted major events including the Comiket convention (from 1996), the Tokyo International Anime Fair (2002–2013), and AnimeJapan (from 2014). Originally planned to host wrestling, fencing, and taekwondo during the 2020 Summer Olympics, budget constraints redirected those events elsewhere; Tokyo Big Sight instead served as the main broadcasting and press center for the Games.
