The Toledo Museum of Art in Toledo, Ohio, is an internationally renowned institution housing more than 30,000 objects across 45 galleries and 280,000 square feet. Founded by glassmaker Edward Drummond Libbey in 1901, it moved to its current Greek Revival building—designed by Edward B. Green and Harry W. Wachter—in 1912 and expanded in the 1920s and 1930s. The main building features fifteen classroom studios, a 1,750-seat Peristyle concert hall, a lecture hall, and amenities including a café and gift shop. Additional structures were added in the 1990s and 2006, and the museum is undergoing a major multiyear expansion across its 40-acre campus. Attracting approximately 380,000 visitors annually, it was voted America's favorite museum in 2010 by Modern Art Notes readers.
