Twin Oaks is a historic plantation dwelling in Linthicum Heights, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, that exemplifies the architectural eclecticism of the nineteenth century. Originally constructed in 1857 as a two-and-a-half-story brick Greek Revival structure, the house received substantial additions and Neo-Classical embellishments in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, resulting in a final composition influenced by Georgian Revival style. The property gained prominence as the home of U.S. Congressman John Charles Linthicum, who sponsored the legislation establishing "The Star-Spangled Banner" as the national anthem and entertained notable figures including William Jennings Bryan and General Douglas MacArthur within its walls. The grounds feature several outbuildings and ornamental elements, including a Victorian birdhouse, aviary, columned grape arbor, concrete-cast columns, and statuary. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
