The US Post Office in Lake Placid, New York, is a Colonial Revival structure built between 1935 and 1936 under the Office of the Supervising Architect of the Treasury Department, directed by Louis A. Simon. The one-story, five-bay building features a steel frame clad in orange and buff-colored brick, raised on a foundation with a cast-stone watertable. Its interior is distinguished by a series of murals painted in 1937 by Henry Billings. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, it exemplifies the Depression-era civic architecture that shaped communities across New York State.
