Located at 140 Maiden Lane in downtown San Francisco, the V. C. Morris Gift Shop was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1948. The building served as a physical prototype for the spiraling circular ramp that would later define Wright's celebrated Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York City. The shop's interior features built-in furniture crafted entirely from black walnut, designed by Manuel Sandoval, an apprentice and collaborator of Wright, and remains original to the renovation.
