Västmanlands-Dala Nation, commonly known as V-Dala, is one of the thirteen student nations at Uppsala University in Sweden, founded in 1639 to serve students from the provinces of Dalarna and Västmanland—regions that encompassed much of the diocese of Västerås. The nation's first inspektor, appointed in 1663, was Olof Rudbeck the Elder, a prominent figure in Swedish academic life. The building itself was designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, bringing modernist principles to Uppsala's historic student quarter.
