The Verona Arena is a Roman amphitheatre in the heart of Verona, Italy, standing 31 meters high and constructed of stone. Among the best-preserved ancient amphitheatres surviving into the modern era, its exceptional condition owes much to systematic restoration efforts beginning in the 16th century. Since 1913, the Arena has hosted the Arena di Verona Festival's opera seasons during summer months, a tradition that has continued uninterrupted except during wartime. Throughout the remainder of the year it functions as a concert venue. The site was designated Italian national heritage and hosted both the closing ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics and the opening ceremony of the 2026 Winter Paralympics.
