The Edward C. Waller Apartments, located at 2840–2858 West Walnut Street in Chicago, were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1895 for developer Edward C. Waller, a prominent figure in Chicago's post-fire reconstruction. The project embodied Waller's pioneering vision of subsidizing housing for lower-income residents, executed through a collaboration between Waller and Wright that also produced the Francisco Terrace apartments. Each unit featured a thoughtfully planned layout comprising a parlor, chamber, dining room, kitchen, bathroom, and closets. Among Chicago's oldest buildings devoted to subsidized housing, the Waller Apartments earned Chicago Landmark status in 1994.
