The Wesley West House is a two-story brick Italianate residence built in 1877 on a 170-acre farm in Mount Vernon, Iowa, by local builders Marsden Keyes and Charles H. Davis for Wesley West and his wife Polly, who had settled in the area in 1859. The house features a square plan with a single off-centered kitchen wing, a symmetrical facade, and a hipped roof with bracketed eaves characteristic of the Italianate style. After Wesley West's death in 1894, his son David undertook an extensive renovation in 1897. The house remained in family ownership until 1982 and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
