Built in 1921 at 108 N. Emma Street, West Frankfort City Hall is a two-story neoclassical brick structure erected by contractor S. M. Wilson at a cost of $35,000 to serve the newly established Illinois city. The building operated as the municipal seat until 1979, when a replacement city hall was constructed; it now houses meetings of the West Frankfort Civic Center Authority. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002, it remains one of only three such properties in Franklin County.
