The Westerlichttoren, or West Schouwen, is a brick-and-iron lighthouse in Haamstede, Schouwen-Duiveland, built in 1837 to the design of L. Valk. Standing 47 meters above ground with its light positioned 58 meters above sea level, it ranks among the Netherlands' tallest lighthouses. The structure's distinctive red-and-white spiral paintwork marks it visually, while its engineering reflects careful attention to load and taper—the walls measure 2.4 meters thick at the base and gradually narrow toward the top. A stone and iron staircase of 226 steps ascends to the lantern room. Now unattended and protected as a Rijksmonument, the tower remains a prominent maritime landmark.
