The Wianno Club, a historic hotel and club at 107 Sea View Avenue in Osterville, Massachusetts, originated as the Cotocheset House, a Shingle-style structure built in 1882 following a devastating fire that destroyed a grander resort hotel the previous year. The building became the centerpiece of a wealthy resort development largely established before World War I. When the newly founded Wianno Club purchased the property in 1916, it developed a nine-hole golf course on the original land, later enlisting legendary designer Donald Ross in 1919 to redesign the first nine holes and create a new nine-hole course. The main clubhouse is a large three-story Shingle-style structure distinguished by varied cross gables, projecting sections, and porches characteristic of the era; a single-story northeast wing and Colonial Revival porch were added after the club's acquisition. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 as one of few surviving nineteenth-century hotel buildings, it retains much original interior detail and anchors the Wianno Historic District, while the club also maintains the adjacent Tiffany Cottage as a guest house.
