Wilhelma is a zoological and botanical garden in Stuttgart's Bad Cannstatt district, occupying the grounds of a historic castle and drawing over 2 million visitors annually. Built on approximately 30 hectares, the complex houses around 11,500 animals representing roughly 1,200 species—the second-largest collection among German zoos—alongside some 6,000 plants from diverse climates. The gardens have been staffed since 1846 and exhibit Moorish Revival architecture echoing the Alhambra style, which has been carefully maintained and expanded since 1960. The site maintains a secondary facility in Fellbach and is designated a Kulturdenkmal, making it one of Baden-Württemberg's most significant cultural and tourist attractions.
