The Old Palace in Stuttgart-Mitte originated as a water castle in the 10th century and served as the residence of the Counts and later Dukes of Württemberg before evolving into its Renaissance architectural form. Situated on the Schillerplatz, the structure now houses the Landesmuseum Württemberg, while its castle church continues to function as an active place of worship.
