The Woodlawn Historic and Archeological District preserves an 899-acre plantation established in 1790 near the Rappahannock River in southern King George County, Virginia. The estate's main Greek Revival house dates to its founding, though it has undergone numerous extensions and alterations since its construction. The property retains antebellum slave quarters and archaeological sites documenting Native American occupation, offering material evidence of the region's complex layered history. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991, the district's boundaries largely reflect the original plantation layout nearly two and a half centuries after its establishment.
