Located in Pineville, Wyoming County, West Virginia, the Wyoming County Courthouse and Jail is a neoclassical complex comprising a monumental courthouse and adjoining stone jail. Designed by state architect A. F. Wysong, the courthouse was constructed in 1916 from locally quarried stone and features a notably massive pediment characteristic of the neoclassical style. The adjoining jail, built of similar stone materials in 1930 using Work Projects Administration labor, complements the main structure. A bronze statue of W.H.H. Cook, an early settler and influential preacher, stands before the courthouse. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
