The Washington County Jail in Fayetteville, Arkansas, is a Romanesque Revival structure built in 1896 and designed by W. B. Reese. Constructed of load-bearing stone with square-cut blocks laid in irregular courses and finished with a rough quarry-cut surface, the building features a distinctive medieval character unusual for its locale. Its massing is nominally two stories, punctuated on the right by a square tower crowned with a crenellated parapet, while contrasting darker and lighter stone tones create visual interest across the façade. The fourth and longest-serving county jail in Washington County's history, the building remained in operation until 1973 before passing into private ownership. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
