The Wyre Light was a 40-foot iron screw-pile lighthouse built in 1840 by Alexander Mitchell to mark the navigation channel to Fleetwood, Lancashire, England. The structure, which stood 12 meters tall, represented an innovative application of the screw-pile foundation system. As of late 2025, the lighthouse has collapsed and is no longer visible at low tide.
