The Yeni Mosque in Mytilene, on the Greek island of Lesbos, is a former Ottoman mosque built in 1825 by local governor Mustafa Agha Koulaxiz. Originally the largest and newest of the island's Ottoman-era mosques, the complex once encompassed a madrasa, mufti's rooms, and a cemetery. Following the departure of the Muslim population from Lesbos in 1923 after the Balkan Wars, the mosque fell into abandonment and disrepair, eventually suffering roof collapse. Now designated an archaeological site and standing partially in ruins, the structure underwent restoration work in the early 2000s and represents an important witness to the Ottoman architectural heritage of the North Aegean.
