Yokohama Christ Church, located in Yamate, Yokohama, is a historic Anglican church founded shortly after the opening of the treaty port in 1859, serving both Japanese and English-language congregations. Built in 1863 and designed by Jay Hill Morgan, the church exemplifies Gothic and Norman architectural styles, constructed of Ōya Stone. The building has been rebuilt and refurbished multiple times due to fires, earthquakes, and wartime bombing during the Second World War. Relocated to its current Yamatechō site in 1901, the church remains part of the Yokohama Diocese of the Nippon Sei Ko Kai, the Anglican Church in Japan, and is designated as a Yokohama-recognized historic structure.
