The Z. C. B. J. Hall, also known as Bohemian Hall, stands near Arthur, Wisconsin as a testament to the region's Czech immigrant community. Built in 1907 in Boom Town and Victorian architectural styles, the structure originally measured 60 by 32 feet and featured a false-front parapet. Its exterior is clad in metal embossed to resemble cement blocks and painted silver. The hall served as a gathering place for members of the Západní Česká Bratrská Jednota (Western Bohemian Fraternal Association), an organization founded locally in 1904 that provided insurance and financial services while fostering social bonds. A foldable stage was added in 1913 for performances by traveling Czech theatrical groups, followed by a permanent stage and kitchen in 1930. Beyond hosting weddings, funerals, and dances, the hall offered Czech language instruction and, from 1928 to 1943, hosted Sokol meetings emphasizing gymnastics and cultural patriotism. Recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, it remains an important landmark of Wisconsin's Czech heritage.
