30 Rockefeller Plaza, a 66-story Art Deco skyscraper completed in 1933, anchors Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan. Designed by Raymond Hood, the building rises 259 meters and was the world's third-tallest structure at its completion. Its distinctive massing comprises a main eastern tower, a windowless central section, and a 16-story western annex, all conforming to the 1916 Zoning Resolution with setbacks primarily for aesthetic effect. The facade features limestone with a granite base and approximately 6,000 windows separated by aluminum spandrels. Originally home to the Radio Corporation of America, the building later housed General Electric before becoming the Comcast Building in 2015. It serves as headquarters and studios for NBC television network and contains the Rainbow Room restaurant and Top of the Rock observation deck, along with significant artworks including Diego Rivera's Man at the Crossroads. The entire Rockefeller Center complex, including portions of 30 Rockefeller Plaza's interior, holds landmark designations at both city and national levels.
