The Comcast Center is a 58-story, 297-meter skyscraper completed in 2008 at 1701 John F. Kennedy Boulevard in Center City, Philadelphia. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects for Liberty Property Trust, the tower is Pennsylvania's second-tallest building and the 31st-tallest in the United States. Originally conceived as One Pennsylvania Plaza in 2001, the building underwent two redesigns before construction began in 2005, with the final scheme unveiled in early 2005. Comcast, the cable company and primary tenant, occupies 89 percent of the building's 1.09 million square feet and uses it alongside the nearby Comcast Technology Center as its corporate headquarters. The building features retail and restaurant space, a connection to Suburban Station, and a distinctive 2,000-square-foot high-definition LED screen installation—the Comcast Experience—in its lobby that has become a popular tourist attraction. As the tallest Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified building in Philadelphia, it was designed with environmental sustainability in mind.
