Originally built in 1988 as the Shearson Lehman Plaza, 388 Greenwich Street is a postmodern office skyscraper designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox that rises 151 meters in the Tribeca neighborhood of Lower Manhattan. The building occupies a prominent site at Greenwich Street with frontages on North Moore and West Streets, standing roughly ten blocks north of the World Trade Center and ranking among TriBeCa's tallest structures. It forms part of a two-building complex with the neighboring 10-story 390 Greenwich Street that now serves as global headquarters for Citigroup. Beyond its standard office functions, the building incorporates extensive amenities including a fitness center, full-service dining, medical facilities, conference space, and a day care center, along with an outdoor park. Among Manhattan's distinctive features, 388 Greenwich Street is one of the few buildings equipped with double-deck elevators. Following the September 11 attacks, its courtyard served as a triage center.
