Located at the southeastern corner of the rebuilt World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan, 4 World Trade Center (also known as 150 Greenwich Street) is a modern 978-foot skyscraper designed by Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki. Groundbreaking began in January 2008, and the tower opened to tenants and the public on November 13, 2013. The building houses the headquarters of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and contains 2.3 million square feet of office space. It replaced an original nine-story structure at the same address that was destroyed in the September 11 attacks.
