Built in 1920 for A. Fletcher Spigner, a prominent Columbia attorney and South Carolina State Senator, this Tudor Revival residence in Columbia exemplifies early twentieth-century residential design. The 2½-story frame house features characteristic period details: faux half-timbering with stuccoed finish on the upper floor, a red terra cotta tile roof, and a central single-story front portico. Its rectangular double-pile plan and complementary 1½-story garage reflect the architectural conventions of prosperous early twentieth-century American homes. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2009, the house has also been known as the Spigner-Wilson-Seibels House and Hanner House.
