The Al-Hannanah Mosque, also known as the Mosque of the Head, is a Shi'ite mosque located in Najaf, Iraq. According to tradition recorded in hadith attributed to Ja'far al-Sadiq, the mosque's alternate name derives from its historical association with the head of Husayn ibn Ali, which was kept within the building while being transported to his opponent Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad. The structure represents an important site in Shi'ite Islamic architecture and devotional practice.
