Alice Tully Hall is a concert venue nestled within the Juilliard Building, a Brutalist structure designed by architect Pietro Belluschi and completed in 1969, located at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Named after Alice Tully, a New York performer and philanthropist whose donations funded its construction, the hall seats 1,086 patrons and has become the home of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center while hosting the New York Film Festival and numerous other performances. Between 2006 and 2009, architects Diller Scofidio + Renfro and FXFOWLE undertook a major renovation and expansion as part of the Lincoln Center 65th Street Development Project, introducing new interior materials, technologies, and updated performance equipment. The renovation added a three-story all-glass lobby and sunken plaza beneath a cantilevered extension that projects a newly visible public identity onto Broadway.
