Americas Tower, a 50-story, 211-meter skyscraper at Sixth Avenue and 45th Street in Midtown Manhattan, rises as a blend of Art Deco and postmodern design by Swanke Hayden Connell Architects. Clad in polished reddish-pink granite, the tower was completed in 1992 after a construction period that began in 1989 and was interrupted by litigation in late 1989 before resuming in February 1991. The building has changed hands several times, most notably when sold to German-American investors in 2002 for $500 million, and subsequently acquired by Norges Bank Investment Management in 2025.
