The Carl B. Stokes Federal Court House Building stands in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, at the corner of Huron Road and Superior Avenue. This 23-story postmodern skyscraper, completed in 2002 after construction began in 1999, rises 430 feet and ranks as the fourth tallest federal courthouse in the United States. Named after Carl Stokes, Cleveland's 51st mayor and the first African American mayor of a major American city, the tower houses multiple federal judicial and law enforcement operations, including circuit and district courts, the U.S. Attorney's office, the U.S. Marshal's Office, and the U.S. Immigration Court. The building is distinguished by *Cleveland Venus*, a 37-foot-tall, 11.5-ton bronze sculpture by Ohio artist Jim Dine, depicting a headless and armless figure inspired by the Venus de Milo.
