The James A. Rhodes Tower, a 21-story brutalist skyscraper completed in 1971, stands 363 feet tall on the campus of Cleveland State University in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Originally called University Tower, it is the fourth-tallest educational building in the United States and the tallest academic structure in Ohio. The tower houses the university's main library across its first eight floors, with administration offices occupying the upper floors. It was renamed to honor former Ohio Governor James A. Rhodes, who signed the legislation establishing Cleveland State University in 1964.
