Carrara Stadium is a multi-purpose venue located in the Gold Coast suburb of Carrara, designed by Populous and completed in 1987. Originally built as the home ground for the Brisbane Bears upon their entry into the VFL/AFL, the stadium was redeveloped comprehensively ahead of the Gold Coast Suns' entry into the AFL in 2011, becoming their primary home ground. Following the Bears' 1993 relocation, the facility hosted diverse sports including rugby league, rugby union, and baseball. In 2018, it served as the venue for the Commonwealth Games' opening and closing ceremonies and athletics competitions. The stadium accommodates cricket matches, including Big Bash League fixtures, and is positioned to host cricket during the 2032 Summer Olympics should the sport gain International Olympic Committee approval. As of 2026, it ranks as the second-largest stadium by capacity on the Gold Coast and the seventh-largest in Queensland.
