Central Market in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, is an Art Deco landmark designed by city architect Jean Desbois and completed in 1937 under the supervision of French architect Louis Chauchon. The striking bright yellow structure features a 26-metre-high central dome with four tall arch-roofed arms extending diagonally across the block, creating expansive hallways lined with countless vendor stalls. When it first opened, it was reputed to be Asia's largest market, and it continues to operate as a thriving marketplace today.
