The MGM Muthu Glasgow River Hotel, formerly known as the Erskine Bridge Hotel & Spa, sits on the banks of the River Clyde in Erskine, Renfrewshire. Originally built in 1971 as the Esso Motor Hotel Erskine, it was Scotland's second motor-based hotel, following Esso's earlier Edinburgh location. Designed in brutalist architecture, the hotel takes its name from the nearby Erskine Bridge and reflects the mid-twentieth-century hospitality infrastructure created for motorists.
