The Flag Building in Clearwater, Florida, is the largest structure in the city and serves as headquarters for the Church of Scientology's Super Power Rundown program, designed to train practitioners in the use of fifty-seven purported "perceptics" or senses. Built in Mediterranean Revival style, the building's construction proved protracted: work began in 1998 but stalled in 2003, prompting municipal fines intended to spur completion. The Church raised an estimated $145 million through fundraising for the project before the building finally opened on November 17, 2013.
