The Flour Exchange Building is an eleven-story office building in downtown Minneapolis designed by the architectural firm Long and Kees, who were also responsible for Minneapolis City Hall and the Lumber Exchange Building. Construction began in 1892 but halted abruptly in 1893 after only four floors were completed, a casualty of the Panic of 1893. Work resumed later, and the building was finally completed in 1909. Designed in the Chicago School style, it employs a relatively straightforward aesthetic with minimal historical ornamentation, emphasizing the modernist principles that would later influence the Butler Square building. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
