Located in Minneapolis's Midtown neighborhood, the Midtown Exchange is a historic Streamline Moderne commercial building completed in 1928 as a retail and mail-order catalog facility for Sears. Originally serving as both a warehouse and showroom, the structure remained Sears's flagship location until 1994, after which it sat vacant for more than a decade. In 2005, the building underwent a comprehensive transformation into multipurpose commercial space, revitalizing the structure while preserving its architectural character. The Midtown Exchange ranks as Minnesota's second-largest building by leasable space, surpassed only by the Mall of America, and is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.
