The Gran Teatro Nacional del Perú, an opera house and concert hall in Lima, opened on 23 July 2011 as part of the Cultural Tridium, flanked by the National Library of Peru and the Museo de la Nación. The theatre seats up to 1,500 people and incorporates advanced acoustics and sound engineering to accommodate diverse programming from opera and philharmonic orchestras to pop and Broadway productions. The complex contains rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms, restaurants, a cafeteria, a library, and multipurpose event spaces. Since its inauguration, it has hosted notable performances including the opera-ballet *Akas Kas* by Peruvian composer Nilo Valerde in 2012, and served as the venue for the state funeral of former president Alberto Fujimori in September 2024.
