The Harold Florsheim House at 650 Sheridan Road in Highland Park, Illinois is a French Château-style residence built between 1925 and 1928 for Harold M. Florsheim, who became president of Florsheim Shoes. Designed by Chicago architect Ernest Grunsfeld—who would later gain prominence for designing the Adler Planetarium—the house exemplifies its romantic style through distinctive architectural features including a gabled entrance, a multi-story three-sided bay window, casement windows, and a hip roof punctuated by dormers. The grounds were designed by renowned landscape architect Jens Jensen, who strategically incorporated an existing ravine on the property to create an enhanced sense of privacy. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
