The James Lorin Richards House is a high-style Shingle-style residence in Newton, Massachusetts, designed by architect Samuel J. Brown and completed in 1901. Built for James Lorin Richards, a tobacco entrepreneur and prominent investor in Boston-area electric utilities who also presided over Norumbega Park, the estate originally comprised the main house at 47 Kirkstall Road and an accompanying carriage barn at 22 Oakwood Road, the latter later converted to residential use. The house and barn were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
