The John Hancock Tower is a modern skyscraper in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood, designed by Henry N. Cobb of I. M. Pei & Partners and completed in 1976. At 60 stories and 790 feet (240 m), it has been the tallest building in New England since completion. Early on, it became known for structural problems, including its blue window panes, which could detach and fall the full height of the building. In 2015, after the insurance company's lease expired, it was renamed for its address, 200 Clarendon Street.
