The Koça Mustafa Pasha Mosque in Istanbul's Fatih district is a former Eastern Orthodox church dedicated to Saint Andrew of Crete, whose foundation dates to the sixth century. Originally serving as both a church and adjoining monastery known as Saint Andrew in Krisei, the brick structure was converted into a mosque by the Ottomans and renamed after the 16th-century figure Koca Mustafa Pasha (also called Sünbül Efendi Camii). Despite extensive transformations across both Byzantine and Ottoman periods, it remains one of the few surviving Istanbul churches with origins reaching back to the early Byzantine era, exemplifying the layered architectural and religious history of the city.
