Kripapureeswarar Temple in Thiruvennainallur, Viluppuram district, Tamil Nadu, is a Dravidian-style shrine dedicated to Shiva, who is revered in the 7th-century Tamil Saiva work Tevaram as a Paadal Petra Sthalam. Built during the Cholas period in the 10th century and endowed by Chola queen Sembiyan Mahadevi, the temple features a five-tiered rajagopuram gateway and a surrounding granite wall. The presiding deity Kripapureeswarar is worshipped alongside his consort Parvathi as Mangalambigai. The temple holds particular significance as the site where 8th-century Saivite saint Sundarar began composing his Tirumurai. It remains a functioning place of worship, hosting four daily rituals and major festivals including the Aadi star day celebration for Sundarar and the Panguni Uthiram festival with its float procession.
