Pasupatiswarar Temple stands in Pandanallur within Thiruvidaimarudur taluk of Thanjavur district in Tamil Nadu, an important center of Shaivite worship built in Dravidian architectural style. The temple's origins trace to the Chola dynasty in the 11th century, with the oldest masonry portions dating to that period, though later expansions followed in subsequent eras. Shiva is revered here as Pasupatheeswarar in lingam form, accompanied by his consort Parvati as Mangalambika, and the shrine holds the distinction of being a Paadal Petra Sthalam, celebrated in the 7th-century Tamil Saiva canonical work Tevaram by the nayanars. The complex features a three-tiered gopuram gateway tower, multiple shrines—with those dedicated to Pasupatheeswarar, Mangalambika, and Adikesava Perumal being most prominent—and three precincts housing numerous halls. The temple maintains four daily rituals and observes five yearly festivals, notably Panguni Uthiram and Masi Magam, and is now administered by the Government of Tamil Nadu's Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.
