The Pushpavaneswarar temple in Thirupuvanam, a town in Sivaganga district, Tamil Nadu, is a Dravidian-style Hindu shrine dedicated to Shiva, believed to have been constructed during the Cholas period in the 7th century. The presiding deity appears in the Tevaram, the Tamil Saiva canonical work by the Nayanmars saint poets, earning the temple the sacred classification of Paadal Petra Sthalam. The temple is enclosed by a granite wall and features a seven-tiered gateway tower known as a Rajagopuram, positioned on the banks of the Vaigai river. Shiva is worshipped here as Pushpavaneswarar, alongside his consort Parvathi as Soundaranayagi. The temple observes four daily rituals and celebrates four prominent yearly festivals, including Vaikasi Visagam, Aaadi Mulaikattu, Navaratri, and Aipasi Kolattam, administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of Tamil Nadu.
