The Panchavarnaswamy Temple in Woraiyur, Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu, is an ancient Tamil shrine dedicated to Shiva in the Dravidian architectural style. The temple's name derives from the belief that Shiva manifests in five different colours. Revered since at least the 7th century, it appears in the Tevaram, the canonical Saiva work composed by the tri-nayanars—the Tamil saint poets Sambandar, Thirunavukkarasar, and Sundar—and holds the classification of Paadal Petra Sthalam. The structure bears numerous inscriptions from the Chola period. The temple maintains an active ritual calendar with six daily ceremonies conducted between 5:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., alongside three annual festivals, with the Srivari Brahmotsavam drawing hundreds of thousands of devotees. It is currently administered by the Tamil Nadu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department.
