Thiruvadigai Temple, located in Panruti, Cuddalore district, Tamil Nadu, is a major Hindu temple in Dravidian architectural style dedicated to Shiva, worshipped here as Veerattaaneswarar and represented by the lingam. The temple complex, among the largest in the state, features two gateway towers (gopurams) and multiple shrines, with those dedicated to Veerateeswarar and Mookambigai being particularly prominent. The temple is revered as a Paadal Petra Sthalam, mentioned in the 7th-century Tamil Saiva canonical text Tevaram, and holds significance as the site where the nayanar saint poet Appar converted back to Saivism and attained final salvation. The complex comprises three precincts, numerous halls, and maintains a rigorous schedule of six daily rituals and twelve yearly festivals, administered by the Thiruvaduthurai Adheenam monastic institution.
