Located on Church Street in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the Montgomery Building is a ten-story Chicago School skyscraper designed by Lockwood, Greene & Co. and completed in 1924. The steel-frame structure, clad in precast concrete and spanning nine bays, originally served textile companies, cotton brokers, and factories, while also housing a theatre/auditorium and radio and television station. It stood as Spartanburg's tallest building until the 1950s. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the building underwent a comprehensive $29 million renovation between 2017 and 2018 to convert it into mixed-use space encompassing apartments, offices, and retail.
