The Musée Rodin in Paris's 7th arrondissement opened in 1919 as a museum dedicated to French sculptor Auguste Rodin. Housed in the Hôtel Biron—designed by architect Jean Aubert and used by Rodin as his workshop from 1908—the museum occupies a central Paris location with a second site at Rodin's former home, the Villa des Brillants at Meudon. Rodin bequeathed his entire collection to the French State on condition it become a museum in his name. The holdings span 6,600 sculptures, 8,000 drawings, 8,000 photographs, and 7,000 objets d'art, including masterworks such as *The Thinker*, *The Kiss*, and *The Gates of Hell*, many displayed in the surrounding gardens. The collection also encompasses paintings by van Gogh, Monet, and Renoir, and features a dedicated room to sculptor Camille Claudel. The expansive grounds include a small lake and restaurant, drawing approximately 700,000 visitors annually.
