One57 is a 75-story supertall skyscraper completed in 2014 at 157 West 57th Street in Midtown Manhattan, designed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc. Developed by Extell Development Company, the mixed-use tower rises 1,005 feet and combines 92 luxury condominium units above a 210-room Park Hyatt Hotel flagship property. The postmodern structure features a distinctive facade of blue-toned panels, a curved roof, and sculptural setbacks on its 57th Street elevation that evoke cascading waterfalls, with concrete floor slabs providing its structural core. The residential interiors were appointed by designer Thomas Juul-Hansen. Upon completion, One57 briefly held the title of the city's tallest residential building and set records for the highest-priced sales in New York City, with units selling for $100.5 million and $91.5 million, though its design—particularly the facade and overall form—drew critical controversy. Located on Billionaires' Row, it was the pioneering ultra-luxury condominium tower to anchor that prestigious stretch of 57th Street.
